The Association for Financial Professionals of New Jersey, AFPNJ, offers scholarships annually to undergraduate students in conjunction with Bloomfield College and Rutgers University.  Our scholarship, the AFPNJ Don Aquila Scholarship, has awarded over $140,000.00 since 1981.  Students are required to write a 10 page paper on a current treasury management topic selected by the scholarship committee. A committee of AFPNJ members selects the winning entries. The winners then present their papers to the membership at the September meeting.

The 2002 winner of the AFPNJ Don Aquila Scholarship award is Surya Yalamanchili from Rutgers University. The first runner up is Antoinette Mitchell from Bloomfield College and the second runner up is Maria Pino from Bloomfield College.

AFPNJ would like to thank all the scholarship applicants for their interest and Professors Ivan Brick and Oden Palmon of Rutgers University, and Professor Louis Gonzalez of Bloomfield College for their help.

AFPNJ has once again awarded a $1,000.00 to a student in Goshen High School, Goshen, NY, in the name of our friend and former officer of AFPNJ, Tony Constantino, who is no longer with us but his memory lives on.

For more information concerning the scholarships, please contact Donald Aquila at (732) 873-1994.
